Family Support

Equally important to educating young children is the family’s ability to thrive. HHRC supports families as essential partners in their child’s learning journey. Through Family Engagement and Partnerships, we ensure the family’s well-being, economic mobility, and foster stable family relationships. Through an individualized plan, our Family and Community Engagement Specialists (FACES) empower parents and caregivers to actively participate in their child’s development, growth, and learning. Family members have access to workshops, resources, and services that enable the family unit to strengthen.

Family Well-being

  • Offer parenting support and strategies.

  • Connect families to community and federal assistance.

  • Help families identify and reach their goals and dreams, including those related to finances and economic mobility, housing, employment, and education.

  • Provide a career pathway in early care and education — about 22% of program staff are current or former Head Start parents.

  • Provide resources and referrals to health, medical, and mental health needs that meet each individual family member's needs.

Family Engagement

  • Parents are invited to attend monthly parent meetings aimed at learning how to better parent and ensure the family unit’s success.

  • Parents meet one on one with FACE Specialist to share information and insights about their child and receive resources and support.

  • Engage parents as their child's lifelong advocate.

  • Support child and family transitions to the next step towards kindergarten.
